Today we will make the drive down to Austria with our bags packed for part two of our journey. Nestled in the Alps, our chalet will also have a sauna and hot tub. We will dine tonight with panoramic views of these beautiful mountains.
On this day we will be going to an Alpine mountain that straddles Germany and Austria. A cable car will take us up to the summit. After time spent here, we will ride a second cable car down into the glacier at the top of the mountain. Bring your coat and snow shoes as this glacier has snow year round. You can hike or sled here or even just enjoy a drink at the cafe as you lounge.

After our last Austrian breakfast, we will make the drive back up to Stuttgart. After our final goodbyes, transportation to the airport or train station will be provided.
We will arrange for you to be picked up at either Stuttgart Airport or Stuttgart Main Train Station to bring you back to a home in a beautiful village. After getting settled we will start our adventures in the most German way possible with dinner at a local beer garden.
After breakfast and a leisurely morning, we will head down to an old, picturesque palace and monastery where we can explore this hidden treasure in a quiet village. Next we will go into a university town located on the Neckar River that has been called the "Oxford of Germany". We will explore this beautiful town, its unique shops, and the old university.
Put your hiking shoes on as we go on a morning hike in the Alpine foothills. Starting at a waterfall, we will hike up to the ruins of a summit castle where you can take in bird's eye views and the history of the ruins. After lunch in a charming village, we will have a restful afternoon at a traditional German thermal bath facility. Relax like a German in the variety of thermal baths nestled in the hills we just hiked. You can also enjoy the steam bath area and the unique thermal salt grotto.
We will start the day with a visit to the the world’s second longest suspension footbridge, the Highline179. This bridge connects the ruins of Ehrenberg Castle to the remains of the Roman Fortress Claudia. We will then head back away from the tourists to a quiet Alpine lake that you'll find hard to believe really is "that blue". We spend time enjoying the area including a hike around the lake.
