how it works
Over here, our heart is to see you connect with some incredible things happening around the world. When you book a session, exactly $100 of your booking is sent to the currently featured organization. It's that straightforward.
I am careful and intentional about who is being featured. Having worked for a few years with non-profits, I know that it is important to know exactly where your money is going. It is also equally as important to support things are being run in a sustainable way that produce long-lasting effects.
Most of the organizations featured are ones with whom I have personally worked. The others have people I know and trust involved.

It's wonderful when the location of the session holds some meaning for you personally whether it's your home, a space you frequent, or place that just speaks to you. If you're having a hard time coming up with a place- no worries! We can collaborate on the spot that's perfect for you. If you're interested in booking a session; but don't live in the D.C. Metro or Stuttgart, Germany area, contact me anyway. I love to travel!

We all have smart phones with a camera, but if you're here, it's probably because you see the value in your "now" documented as art. Here are a few other things you might want to know about your photo session.
clothing choices
location, location, location!
the goal for our photo shoot is to have it be relaxed and natural. it's wonderful when your clothes reflect this. Wear what makes you feel relaxed and beautiful.
the routine is a relaxed, at-home setting done sometime with in the first couple weeks of life. try to schedule the newborn session at least two months in advance.

The day we received the photographs, my heart almost stopped. Alyssa gave me the gift of seeing everything with new eyes. She captured my children's personalities perfectly, gave my husband and I photographs we wish we could have had at our wedding, and did it all while making this camera shy girl comfortable!

SHE IS BRILLIANT WHEN IT COMES TO LIGHTING AND ANGLES BUT WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT HER WORK IS HER ABILITY TO CAPTURE MY FAMILY IN SETTINGS AND SHOTS WHERE WE ARE JUST BEING OURSELVES.
